Prayer

Today my 5th & 6th graders were sharing prayer requests. One girl wanted to pray for snow (not something I would have prayed for otherwise), so we prayed for snow. Ten minutes later, I said, "Look outside, guys." Sure enough, it had started to snow. I went on with the lesson, but one of the boys said, "Shouldn't we stop and praise God?" So we did.

what?! why are you guys praying for snow??!? (i know that wasn't the point, but i'm pretty distracted by it;) ...i mean, it's still acknowledging God's power & faithfulness -- i don't think we should pray for snow cuz then we'll get it cuz God answers our prayers... :)

snow definitely is not something i'd pray for! but the girl wanted it, and apparently God said yes to her prayer and no to the one i was muttering in my heart - that i could live someplace tropical instead ;)

:) -- no wonder the kids had to remind you to praise God for the snow ;)
