Punto Update
Dino Jr. went with us to the autograph signing. The lady at the check-in place said only the girls could get autographs, so we knew our plan wouldn't work. But Dino Jr. had fun anyways. He played a beanbag game and won a squishy baseball (plus he got free popcorn, so he was pretty happy). Then he saw TC, the Twins' bear mascot. Mel is scared to death of mascots, so she hid behind Dino Jr. (true story). But Dino Jr. got TC's autograph, along with a bonus one for his big brother, DinoBoy. Then he asked me, "Is that the baseball player we're going to see?"
Finally, Mr. Punto arrived. When we got to the front of the line, the girls in turn handed him their game balls. He signed them and then looked at Dino Jr., who handed him his squishy ball (because that's what he thought he was supposed to do). Punto signed it, posed for a picture, and we left.
So then, brilliant Melilot had Scout go back and play the beanbag game, so she won a squishy ball. We asked Dino Jr. if he wanted the ball with writing on it, or if he wanted to trade with Scout for a clean ball. He opted for the clean one, and now my boss's son will get Nick Punto's autograph. All in all, a fun, successful day (and Dino Jr. went home with a baseball, TC's autograph, a dinosaur coloring book, and a McDonald's toy, so as far as he was concerned, he made out better than Scout, who got two scribbled on baseballs).

yay!! Congrats! (aren't little kids great?;)
why thank you for your compliment. (but you forgot to compliment our friend nick on his cuteness.)
oh, and i may have hid behind a 4 year old, but you once hid from a squirrel behind a two year old.
How fun:) And Z didn't use to like mascots, either, until we went to the Chocolate Factory and he met Kit Kat guy, Hershey guy and York guy. Now he loves them all (he gave Tony the Tiger a high five a couple of weeks ago), but calls them the "chocolates".
but a squirrel is a real threat. didn't you hear dino jr. say "it's just a man in a bear costume"?
and i let you be the one to blog about mr. punto's cuteness, because you always get cranky when i steal your blogs
you guys & your sibling rivalry are so cute ;)
why thank you again, didder. but you didn't mention how cute scout was with her 'he talked to me'ness.
and in that one pic t.c. is eating a baby's head - so i think it's a legitimate fear. unlike squirrels who run the other way if you stomp at them.
why would you stomp at a squirrel? it might make them even madder!
and here's my p.s. - when mr. punto signed scout's ball, he noticed that it was a game ball, and asked her about it. she was all cute with her "he talked to me"-ness
happy now, didder?
:)
yay, scout! (but didn't erma get a game ball signed too??)
yes, erma got one, too - but scout's was the one he commented on as being a game ball. hers is probably dirtier.
ah :)
and just so you non-minnesotans know, punto's been playing better since he saw us :)
we are such inspirations
