Movie Review: America's Heart & Soul
If I were to make a movie, this is the movie I would make. At the risk of sounding cheesy, I love my country, and I love the diversity of its people. This little-known gem wasn't released in regular theaters - it only came to IMAX - but if you can find it on DVD, it's well worth seeing. It's a movie about the ordinary people who make America great - from dairy farmers to gospel singers to coal miners (and it even includes the people who make America really great - Ben & Jerry). While it is a documentary, it's not slow. It's made up of short segments that keep the pace moving.
The cinematography is impressive (check out the cliff dancers!)
and the stories are warm and fuzzy, like you'd expect from a good old-fashioned Disney film. If for no other reason, you should see this for the story of the father and son marathoners.

nice to see another clean, family-friendly movie! (and excellent pix:) but i rarely visit the documentary section at my local video store, i must admit... i'll have to make a point to remember
ootp's also going to be in imax -- i'd kinda like to see it, but not until i've first seen it in the regular theater :)
