Great Way to Spend a Saturday

This morning a family from church called (at 8 am on a Saturday!) to ask if we'd babysit their toddler for a few hours. We adore their little boy, so of course we said yes. They asked what time worked best and we had nothing planned, so anytime would work. They said they'd call after his morning nap and let us know they were coming. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally at 1:15 I called and left a message on their voice mail, asking when he'd be coming. Two hours later they called and said, "Oh, he went to Grandma & Grandpa's instead."
Is it just me, or was that incredibly rude?

That is terribly rude. Our babysitter for tomorrow called us just a few days ago to say that he didn't want to do it anymore (we asked several weeks ago as this is a wedding that we'd really like to be at) and if we could please find someone else. This person is family and has raised kids of their own. I'm still fuming.

some people just don't get how hard it is to find a sitter, especially with such little notice.

they're probably also the people that don't want you to scan their beans. Not our person in the situation, I don't think he'd care about the beans, but I could see the lady that did that, doing this.
